Beauty Review: Younique Cosmetic Products

Hello there lovelies!  I have a beauty post for you today!  I was asked to review some Younique Products and I figured sure, why not!  I always hear about these products, especially the fiber mascara and I was curious.  I thought my readers might be curious too so I am happy to help show you some of these products and hopefully make it easier for you to decide if you want take the plunge and purchase.  So I have an assortment of lipsticks, face items and of course the fiber mascara!  You can purchase any of these from Caitlin's website HERE.  So let's get started! And please be gentle with your comments!  I'm actually a little nervous about this post since I'm showing you the makeup on my face and not just my arm.

Younique By Cate: Shop

I started off with lipstick, which is kind of funny since when I put on a whole face of makeup I typically do lipstick last.  But it was a day of firsts so why not, right?  Here are the products I had; a tinted lip stain, a light colored lip balm and 2 full coverage lipsticks.

Younique Lip Products

Up first is Moodstruck Opulence Lipstick in Conceited.  This is a very girly pink shade with a creamy finish.  I found the color pay off outstanding and the formula was smooth.  The lipstick stayed in place nicely, and I don't use lip liner so I was pleased there was no feathering.  I'm not positive I loved the shade on me but heck, it's nice to get out of your comfort zone sometimes and this is a perfect Spring/Summer shade so I plan to rock it!

Pretentious is another Moodstuck Opulence Lipstick and is a sparkly magenta shade.  I love the color and the sparkle!  Again, the color payoff was fabulous!  Rich color, very saturated.  I did notice a bit of a gritty feel from the shimmery particles in here but it wasn't like sandpaper or anything.  It definitely wouldn't deter me from wearing it again.  And I plan to - hello perfect pop of color for a night out on the town!  You can pick up these lipsticks for $19 each.

Lip Bonbon Tinted Lip Balms are a new product and since I am a lip balm addict I had to get one.  Plus I love the easiness of a lip balm that adds color, such a no brainer for a busy mom like me who typically doesn't care if I brushed my hair or an wearing pajamas in public rushing the kids around.  I picked Raspberry Cheesecake and it's a soft, subtle pink wash of color with loads of moisture.  My lips looked shiny and healthy with this on.  There's a very subtle vanilla fragrance and the Lip Bonbons are made with fruit extracts and five natural oils.  Yup, I definitely want the others now!  These are $22 each.

And the last lip product I have is Stiff Upper Lip Lip Stain in Sappy.  This product is $22.  It is a nice wash of red that applied easily and without any fuss.  I just used the doe foot applicator and the tint sunk right in.  The amount of color was much deeper than I expected as my previous experience with tints provided more of a watercolor wash of the shade in the bottle.  So yay, big win in my books!   The tint absorbed quickly and sets to a dry finish within a couple minutes.  I was left with a nice soft matte look that wasn't overdone.  It stayed on for a good long time too!

Ok, moving on to some face products!  This is the Beachfront Bronzer in Sunset.  You can use this on your face as well as your shoulders, décolletage, even your arms and legs!  This is made with safflower, ginseng, aloe and ginkgo.  I thought the bronzer powder was soft and silky.  It blended into my cheeks, and areas I wanted a kiss of color.  I didn't feel overly sparkly or glittery, the effect was very subtle and natural.  I felt like I had spent a day out at the beach getting kissed by the sun!  The Beachfront Bronzers are $32 each.

The next product is the Splurge Cream Shadow in Dainty.  This is a super sparkly, creamy eyeshadow with staying power!  I was actually surprised with the texture of the product, it reminded me of a whipped mousse.  It applied perfectly with my fingertip.  The silvery-taupe shade is nice and neutral, great for day or night.  There are currently 12 shades of Splurge Cream Shadow (with more on the way) and they are $26 each.

*just wanted you to take note that THESE ^ are my natural lashes...now wait until you see them with the 3D Fiber Mascara!*

Ok, the product you are all waiting for.  The Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+.  This is actually a 2 piece kit, you get the Transplanting Gel and the 3D Fibers.  The directions are included in the box so you know exactly what do to since this isn't your mama's mascara!

Up close look at those fibers!

So there's only one color for this mascara.  Black.  Which is fine by me because it's the only color mascara I wear anyways.  I read the directions, which say to apply the Transparent Gel and while still wet run the fibers through your lashes.  You set the look with the gel again.  If you want even more WOW effect you repeat!  Since it called for applying the fibers to wet lashes I did one eye at a time.  Holy moly, I wasn't expecting my lashes to be so huge!  Or look so natural!  I have to admit that when I took this off at night I was pretty sad looking at my own wimpy, god-given lashes.  You can get amazing lashes for $29.  Not a bad deal to get those fly traps, I mean eyelashes!

Ok, here's my full face look!  I'm wearing the Stiff Upper Lip Lip Tint in Sappy, Beachfront Bronzer in Sunset, Splurge Cream Shadow in Dainty and Moonstruck 3D Fiber+ Mascara.  Ta-Da!  Do you see the shadows that my eyelashes are throwing on to my cheeks?!
